Dans la catégorie Meilleure réalisation, le favoritisme du duo Daniel Kwan & Daniel Scheinert, dit “les Daniels”, s’est confirmé. C’était un autre prix du film. Tout partout en même temps.
Le duo, qui a bâti une carrière dans la réalisation de vidéoclips, atteint cet objectif dans son deuxième long métrage – une science-fiction qui implique des concepts de métavers.
En plus de remporter l’Oscar du meilleur réalisateur, les Daniels ont également remporté la statuette du meilleur scénario original, surpassant Os Banshees de Inisherinqui était également considéré comme l’un des favoris pour le prix.
